Thermo Scientific Protease Inhibitor Cocktails are proprietary mixtures of protease inhibitor compounds supplied as 100X liquid stocks for addition to samples to prevent degradation of protein extracts by endogenous proteases that are released during cell lysis. One formulation （Part No. 78410） includes a separate vial of EDTA solution for inhibition of metalloproteases; the other formulation （Part No. 78415） is EDTA-free but includes an undisclosed alternative component for metalloprotease inhibition.

78410 - Protease Inhibitor Cocktail – provides complete protection of proteins from degradation by endogenous proteases that may be released during extraction and purification of proteins from animal and plant tissues, cultured cells, yeast or bacteria. The cocktail inhibits serine and cystine proteases, calpain proteases, and when EDTA is included, metalloproteases. The formulation is proprietary and the product requires thawing before use.
78415 - Protease Inhibitor Cocktail, EDTA-free – unique EDTA-free formulation effectively inhibits most metalloprotease activity and other proteases while allowing optimal action of nuclease activity for removing nucleic acids from samples. Furthermore, the EDTA-free formulation is compatible with purification methods involving immobilized metal chelate affinity chromatography or analysis of extracts by 2-D electrophoresis. The formulation is proprietary and the product requires thawing before use.
